Project Name: Wuhan University Cell Resource Repository Project: Design, Construction, and General Contracting for Renovation Works
Scope of construction: P2 laboratory with a cleanliness level of 100,000, fungal laboratory, anaerobic laboratory, high-temperature incubation room, Class 10,000 clean culture room, low-temperature cold storage, liquid nitrogen facility, sample reception room, and IT equipment room, among others.
Construction scale: Indoor main building: floors 1–9 (6,000㎡), annex building: floors 1–3 (2,000㎡); outdoor area: 4,000㎡.
Project positioning: The Ministry of Education's Key Academician Project—a nationwide, state-of-the-art cell resource bank that sets the highest international standards.
Construction objectives: To address the U.S.-China tech competition, Wuhan University has leveraged the university’s comprehensive academic strengths in cell and virus research across its biology and medical disciplines, as well as the foundational and resource advantages provided by the China Center for Type Culture Collection (CCTCC), which is based on campus. As a result, the university has been approved to establish a Cell Resource Repository within the Ministry of Education, aligning its standards with those of the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC). This initiative aims to build the largest cell resource repository in China, one that meets world-class international standards, while also positioning the university as a leading authority in setting national and global benchmarks for cell resources.
