Category to which: Service Cases

Category to which: Laboratory

Scope of construction: This project encompasses a total floor area of 2,597.8 square meters and includes the construction and renovation of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and air-conditioning systems for various functional spaces such as a BSL-3 laboratory, an ABSL-3 laboratory, BSL-3 auxiliary facilities, an anatomy room, an analytical lab, a sample storage room, a cold storage facility, and a live-pathogen wastewater room.

Project Overview

A biosafety laboratory is a facility designed for conducting experiments related to biological science research. Based on the biological hazard level of the materials handled in the lab, biosafety laboratories are classified into four levels, with Level 1 having the lowest requirement for biosafety containment and Level 4 being the most stringent. A Biosafety Level 3 laboratory is specifically suited for handling pathogenic microorganisms or their toxins that can cause severe, potentially fatal diseases primarily through respiratory transmission. It serves as a key research environment for studying pathogen mechanisms, developing vaccines, advancing drug discovery, and implementing infectious disease prevention and control measures.

Given the laboratory's stringent safety requirements, the project must be constructed strictly in accordance with the relevant provisions outlined in the national standard "Technical Code for Biosafety Laboratory Buildings." This includes higher-standard technical services in areas such as layout design, interior structure, air conditioning, ventilation, purification systems, plumbing and drainage, equipment configuration, and electrical installations. Leveraging its extensive experience in integrated laboratory services, Huakang Medical will provide professional, full-lifecycle support throughout the project.
